Are We Figuring It Out Yet?
Well, for the most part we are all still hunkered down trying to figure out how to make our new situations sustainable, at least for a little while. We are now mostly working from home (including our kids, which makes us part-time home schoolers) and learning new ways of collaborating with others which used to be common routine because of proximity. There is a need for new intentionality, which can be exhausting. Some of us have slowed down considerably with more time on our hands than we have had in years and some of us are busier than ever. But the one thing we all share is the disruption to normalcy and all the stress that comes with it. I hope our blog can bring a little entertainment and maybe some beneficial distraction. Stay safe, stay strong and wash your damn hands please…

Amusing Diversions…
No doubt by now you guys know I am a fan of Bob Borson’s blog, Life of an Architect. It is something of a window into the life of other creatives, and this particular post is no different. He shares his and a number of other architects favorite things on their desk; the things that make it their desk rather than just a desk. Enjoy. - lifeofanarchitect.com
A great little video of Bruce Mau sharing his thoughts and love of books.-
I have not watched this video yet but it is on my list to watch this week. It is a documentary on Richard Neutra’s Oyler House. - THE OYLER HOUSE: RICHARD NEUTRA'S DESERT RETREAT
Did you know that Edgar Allen Poe wrote an essay on the philosophy of furniture in 1840? Neither did I and I found it amusingly offensive. Here it is if you are interested. - readingdesign.org
I also really enjoyed this interview with Paul Andersen and Paul Preissner on “American Framing” and its natural outgrowth of American culture and mindset. - metropolismag.com
